What is Firestarter ?

Firestarter is a music accelerator program, located in Gróska, a creative community in the heart of Reykjavik City, a melting pot for innovation.

In 2020 Firestarter is hosting an intensive two day business focused bootcamp run on December 9 - 10th.

SCHEDULE

Day 1
The program begins with a series of talks where experts from all over the world will provide participants with inspiration and insight into the main challenges and opportunities of the music industry in the wake of the pandemic. Emphasis will be placed on the new future facing the activities of live music performance, more specifically concert venues, music festivals, concert organizers, the musicians themselves and their concert tours.

Day 2
Participants are invited to attend a workshop that aims to cultivate music entrepreneurs, strengthen the business environment and strengthen the connection of music with the environment of innovation and technology. During the workshop we will talk about business ideas and business modelling, marketing on social media and making operating plans. This is an online event.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for strong, passion driven teams ready to dive in, learn new things and develop their ideas. We want music and tech startups, businesses that are a part of the music ecosystem such as music festivals, venues, agents, publishers and booking agents. Last but not least we are looking for entrepreneurs who see opportunities in the music industry. We want solutions ranging from idea stage to more established companies and everything in between.

WHY?
The aim of Firestarter is to grow music entrepreneurs within and out of Iceland. We’d like to encourage and strengthen innovation in the music industry and give the necessary tools and resources in order to breed creative business opportunities. The aim is to support entrepreneurs working within the music industry and establish Reykjavik in the forefront of music innovation.

Firestarter is built in partnership between Reykjavik Music City, Iceland Music Export and Icelandic Startups with support from Sena Live, Icelandic Music Association and The Ministry of Industries and Innovation in Iceland. Icelandic Startups is the program facilitator.
